STAPLES MOTLEY AREA
EMERGENCY RELIEF AND RESPONSE FUND
ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
The Staples Motley Area Community Foundation (SMACF) is now accepting applications to its newly formed Emergency Relief and Response Fund. The purpose of the fund is to give grants to small businesses, organizations, and individuals who have been negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. All those who are operating or living in the Staples-Motley School District, ISD 2170 area are eligible to apply.
“With the recent shelter-in-place order and the continued mandated closures, our community needs our support now more than ever,” said SMACF Chair Katie Heppner. “Our top priority is making sure that this fund is being used to help those who have been significantly financially impacted by COVID-19.” Small businesses can apply for grants of up to $2,000 to cover reimbursable expenses. Examples of expenses include, but are not limited to, utility bills, inventory purchases, and ongoing expenses that could have been paid had the pandemic not occurred. If accepted to receive a grant, small businesses will be asked to submit a receipt for their expenses before funds are distributed.
Applications can be found at https://ifound.app.box.com/v/sma-emergency-fund-grant-app. Completed applications can be submitted by email to [email protected] or by mail to Initiative Foundation, 405 First St. SE, Little Falls, MN 56345. Applications will be reviewed on a weekly basis.
