Is your organization or group in need funding to support a community project? 

Grant opportunities are available to public, academic, and nonprofit organizations that serve residents living and/or working in the boundaries of the Staples Motley School District, ISD 2170.  Grant applications are due by October 15.  Since 1999 we have given over $250,000 in grants.


The Staples Motley Area Community Foundation will accept and consider funding proposals that fit within the following categories:  


  • Improve Community Appearance: Making our community attractive and inviting to visitors and improving the appearance of the community to make residents proud to life here.  
  • Strengthen Youth and Families: Supplementing the endeavors of others in developing and implementing positive opportunities for youth and families.
  • Increase Community Involvement and Leadership: Promoting citizen community involvement by developing and identifying leaders within the community in order to instill a sense of solidarity based on the assets of our community.  
 
Grants are available at a maximum of 50 percent of the project cost.

The Staples Motley Area Community Foundation is a partner fund of the Initiative Foundation, established with the mission to develop and strengthen community resources and to enhance the quality of life of individuals, families, and organizations in the Staples Motley School District (ISD 2170).  Through local dollars, the SMACF provides direct grants to projects that fit their mission.  he geographic area includes:
  • Todd County:  Staples city; townships of Bartlett, Fawn Lake, Moran, Staples, Turtle Creek and Villard
  • Wadena County:  Cities of Aldrich and Staples; townships of Bullard and Thomastown
  • Morrison County:  Citites of Motley and Lincoln; townships of Motley and Scandia Valley
  • Cass County:  Cities of Motley and Leader, townships of Becker, Byron, May, Meadow Brook and Moose Lake
We are committed to helping those organizations that are helping to make our greater communities a better place for all.  We fund 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, governments and schools.
